FAQ
NA2XSY is single-core aluminium conductor medium voltage power cable complying with VDE 0276-620, HD 620 S2 and IEC 60502-2.
Cable code definition:
• NA = Aluminium conductor
• 2X = XLPE cross-linked polyethylene insulation
• S = Copper wire metallic screen with counter helix
• Y = PVC outer sheath
Structure (from inside outward): Class 2 stranded aluminium conductor → conductive conductor screen → XLPE insulation → strippable insulation screen → copper wire screen + reverse spiral binding tape → PVC outer sheath.
Common voltage ratings: 6/10(12)kV, 12/20(24)kV, 18/30(36)kV.
The fundamental difference is conductor material:
N2XSY: Copper conductor; higher current carrying capacity, smaller outer diameter under same cross-section, higher raw material cost.
NA2XSY: Aluminium conductor; lighter weight, significantly lower cable cost, but larger cross-section is required to achieve equivalent conductivity.
Selection suggestion: Choose NA2XSY for large-scale municipal power distribution, industrial medium voltage networks, long-distance underground transmission projects with strict cost control.
Yes, NA2XSY permits direct burial under standard specifications. Minimum burial depth ≥0.6m; minimum 0.8m under roads.
Temperature parameters:
• Maximum continuous operating conductor temperature: 90°C
• Short-circuit conductor temperature (≤5 seconds): 250°C
• Minimum installation laying temperature: ≥0°C.
