15kV XLPE EPR Insulation Cable with Copper Wire Screen

This specification covers shielded, single conductor cables having stranded, bare copper conductors; extruded semi-conducting strand shield; ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) insulation; extruded semi-conducting insulation shield with a 5 mil bare copper tape shield; and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) jacket. Cables are rated 5kV or 15kV, 105°C in wet or dry locations, and meet the requirements of CSA C68.3

Application

This specification covers shielded, single conductor cables having stranded, bare copper conductors; extruded semi-conducting strand shield; ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) insulation; extruded semi-conducting insulation shield with a 5 mil bare copper tape shield; and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) jacket. Cables are rated 5kV or 15kV, 105°C in wet or dry locations, and meet the requirements of CSA C68.3

Products Construction

• Conductor: Stranded Compacted Copper or Aluminium Wire , Class B Conductor

• Conductor Shield : Extruded semi-conducting copolymer compound.

• Insulation: 105°C EPR Insulation

• Insulation Shield: Extruded semi-conducting copolymer compound applied directly over the insulation.The conductor shield, insulation and insulation shield are applied in one tandem operation.

• Metallic screen: Uncoated helically applied 5 mil bare copper tape with a nominal overlap of 25%.

• Outer sheath : Extruded PVC jacket with excellent mechanical properties.

What does MV cable stand for?
